Trying Your Hand and Big Top Action
02.09.02
A spectacular, international circus will make its debut at the
Royal County of Berkshire Show on Saturday and Sunday 21st and
22nd September. The Festival Circus will perform in their own 500-seater,
colourful Big Top at Newbury Showground.
Top jugglers, daring trapeze artists, hilarious comedy acrobats,
balancing acts and the lovable clown George will entertain throughout
the weekend in a series of circus shows. Both in and above the
circus ring there will be talented performances with thrills, spills
and laughter guaranteed to entertain young and old alike!
During both days, there will also be circus workshops for children
and young people to try their hand at circus skills, with help
and supervision on hand from the professionals.
There’s something for everyone at the Festival Circus, so
roll-up, roll-up and share in the excitement and the magic of the
circus!
Another newcomer to the top agricultural event is the final heat
of the British Farmers Arm Wrestling Championship. Over 400 British,
European and World Professional Champions entered the first ever
competition and finalists for the 19th October event are being
selected through heats at six of the country’s top agricultural
shows.
Visitors to the Royal County of Berkshire Show who are keen to
try their hand can enter ‘Granite Arm’ and compete
for a Rally 2000 Club Quad Bike. Sponsored by Farmers Guardian
the novice contest, open to men and women over 18 years (under
18’s require parental consent), will be conducted under the
watchful eye of professional British Arm Wrestling Federation (BAWF)
instructors and referees. BAWF talent scouts will also be present
and regional winners will compete for the quad bike in the 19th
October final
