Marching into the Vodafone Arena on both days of the Royal County
of Berkshire Show at Newbury Showground will be the colourful Band
of the Adjutant’s General Corps. Performing twice on Saturday,
21st September (14.25 and 17.25) and at 17.30 on Sunday 22nd September,
the Band will set feet tapping with their blend of Military Music
and popular melodies.
A programme of continuous music will be performed on the Bandstand
by a selection of highly talented performers,
On Saturday a well known local brass band, Abingdon Band will
be followed by Bob Newman & Carole Gordon, a singing duo at
the backbone of local entertainment for many years, with a mix
of ballads and instrumental numbers. Next is Jazz Menagerie, a
group of talented musicians playing a range of instruments and
music, from jazz to folk, ballad to instrumental. They are followed
by The Jan Steele Latin Jazz Band, music with a Cuban beat. Salsa,
mambo, cha-cha-cha, boleros and danzons and more!
Sunday sees the return of more locals, the Pangbourne Band followed
again by Bob & Carole who will provide their usual blend of
music and fun. Next up is a new group, The Scottish Ceilidh Band,
who play a mix of tunes to get feet tapping. Still in the sunshine
mood there is an introduction to the exotic rhythms of the Caribbean
with Storm Force Steel Band, a Reading group creating a wonderful
image of the Islands.
