Newbury Summer Show with The International
Orchid Show

The largest orchid exhibition in Europe this year will be at Newbury
Showground (Junction 13/M4) as part of the Newbury Summer Show.
Exhibitors from North and South America, Australasia, Europe and
the UK. are taking part in the International Orchid Show and on
display will be some hardy, outdoor species.
More local exhibitors will be in the Crafts and Hobbies marquees
and they promise lots of opportunity to ‘have a go’.
Ever mindful of the countryside, there will be displays and demonstrations
by the various countryside pursuits experts and lots of activities
and competitions from the Young Farmers Clubs.
On the Saturday, for the under 16’s a Teddy Bears Tea Party
is scheduled for 3.00 pm and for those of slightly more mature
years, at 3.45 pm there will be a ‘Champagne and Strawberries’ tea!
The popular ‘Question Time for Gardeners’ will run
on both days from 11.00 am – 4.00 pm. Local, and national
celebrity gardening expert Brian Davis will chair the sessions
and visitors are invited to test his knowledge with their queries.
Small animals, poultry, horticulture and complementary therapy
Marquees will all be on the showground making the Summer Show a
visit for all the family to enjoy.
Tickets, available on the gate are: Adults - £5.00, Senior
Citizens - £3.00, children under 16 and members of the Newbury & District
Agricultural Society - Free. The Show is open: 10am - 5pm. For
