An all-woman team has taken over the reins of the 2013 Royal County of Berkshire Show with the promise that they will build on the substantial success of last year’s event - and break new boundaries. Six local schools will be celebrating Harvest with a jam-packed day of activities at the Newbury Showground on 1 October. Ian Nutt and Tom Copas have been appointed as the new Chairman and President of the Newbury & District Agricultural Society for 2012. Today (September 7th) West Berkshire District Council resolved to approve planning permission to Newbury & District Agricultural Society to build a permanent facility to host cattle at the Royal County of Berkshire Show, a relief road, a lake and a new equestrian manege. The resolution of approval will be forwarded to the District Planning Committee who will make a formal decision. This is likely to be taken in October.
