Who we are
The Newbury and District Agricultural Society was formed in 1909 with the aim of providing a show to replace the local Horse Show.
Today the Society is a registered charity established with the aims:
- To promote advance and improve for the public benefit agriculture, horticulture, forestry and rural crafts and skills in all their branches and forms
- To promote advance and improve the education of the public in matters connected with agriculture, horticulture , forestry and rural crafts and skills.
The showcase for these aims is one of the most successful agricultural shows in the country – The Royal County of Berkshire Show. The Society is the sole organiser of this show.
