The Education Marquee at the Royal County of Berkshire Show 2011

Over the past few years, schools have exhibited students' work in the Education Marquee at The Royal County of Berkshire Show and 2011 saw a record number of schools displaying their students' work of a very high standard, making for a vibrant and colourful exhibition. More schools than ever entered the School Exhibitors Challenge around the theme of "Outside the Classroom" and the judges, Mr Tom Copas, President-elect of NDAS, Mr Ian Nut,t vice Chair of NDAS and Mrs. Pam Hillier-Brook, Chair of NDAS Education Committee found it challenging making a decision. First prize was awarded to Curridge Primary School, second prize went to Mrs Bland's Infant School,  third prize was awarded to The Willows Primary School and fourth to Kennet School.  Invitations to exhibit or compete in next year's Show, on September 15th and 16th 2012 are sent out to schools at the beginning of the summer term.

Miniature Garden Competition

The exhibits for the School competition for a miniature garden in a seed tray at the County Show were delightful.  The theme for 2011 was "Books" to link in with the adult competitions and a number of classic children's books were illustrated in this novel form.  Details of school competitions for 2012 can be obtained by contacting the Education Officer at the Society office.
