Cow Milking and Pig Demonstrations

At the Society we have a large MDF cut out of a milking cow , known as Buttercup (sponsored by Newbury Building Society) and a similarly produced cut out of Rasher the Berkshire Pig.

Buttercup offers the children the opportunity to have a go at milking her themselves as well as having a short talk on a food and/or agricultural theme dictated by the age of the children. Rasher’s visit includes a talk on a day in the life of a pig as well as learning where different cuts of pork meat come from and can include a sausage making demonstration.

I would just like to thank you and Mikey for the fantastic time we all had on Friday. Everyone was bowled over by how lovely you are and how well behaved Buttercup is!

I will certainly be recommending you highly to all my colleagues in other schools.  My class were so excited to tell their parents all about Buttercup the 'squirting' cow at home time!  They all wanted to look at their magazines after we saw you and we are having a ' who can grow the most successful lettuce crop' competition as a result of the free seeds they got.
