Royal County of Berkshire Show charity partnership
The Newbury & District Agricultural Society are pleased to announce that The Royal County of Berkshire Show will be partnering with The Berkshire Community Foundation for the 2019 Show.
The Berkshire Community Foundation use their local knowledge to connect supporters, large or small, to the groups and communities they want to help, making sure their donations are effective and bring the greatest benefit to those most in need.
In 2018, the Foundation distributed over £1 million to local charity projects to support struggling communities in Berkshire, but the Foundation rely on local donors for support so they can provide advice, distribute grants, and raise the profile of local charities and community groups addressing identified need across Berkshire.
The Foundation works alongside donors and philanthropists to raise funds and influence decisions, helping to make a real difference to local people’s lives.
Gerry Lejeune OBE, Chief Executive at Berkshire Community Foundation commented “We are very grateful to The Royal County of Berkshire Show for choosing Berkshire Community Foundation as the 2019 Show charity. The support will make a huge difference to lives of people across Berkshire and will help us continue to fund life-changing projects in the county.”
Support from The Royal County of Berkshire Show will help the Foundation to tackle a number of issues in the county including child poverty, modern slavery, homelessness, physical and mental health issues and isolation and loneliness.
Chris Turner, Chairman for the 2019 Royal County of Berkshire Show adds “The Berkshire Community Foundation will have the opportunity to promote their charity at the Show in September, with a free of charge stand where they will be able to speak with visitors and generate much needed support. We look forward to welcoming them in September and helping to circulate their message.”
